Author: Elmarvandam
Subject: 24807
Posted: 07 Aug 2022 at 9:43am

Hello,

I've been having this issue for a long long time now that whenever I put in both the Memory cards the PC completely freezes after windows launch (usually within 1 minut) and I have to force restart it with the power button.
When I use either 1 of the 2 Memory card it works fine.
I have looked all over the internet for many different solutions:
- Used all kinds of combinations for the Motherboard Ram Slots like 1 and 3 or 2 and 4.
- Updated the BIOS to v2.2
- Tried to amp up the voltage for the cards to 1.37 and tried Xmp profile 1, 2 and Auto. Also set the DRAM Frequency to 3200.
- Reset the BIOS to default.
- Removed the CMOS Battery.
- Reinstalled drivers
- Reinstalled Windows multiple times because the crashes that happened caused windows to stop working properly and sometimes stopped it from launching at all.
- Memtest on both memory cards resulted in errors, Memtest on a single memory card resulted in no errors.

I bought the parts for the computer one and a half year ago and had these issues since the start. I gave up for a long time, but recently figured I'd give it another go and added the 2nd memory card again and it resulted in the pc crashing again.

Is it possible the motherboard is not compatible with these memory cards?
I'd like to think that one or both memory cards are faulty, but why would they work seperately just fine and only have issues when they're together.

I hope someone can help me out with it and I appreciate any feedback or ideas that you might have.

My Specs are:
Motherboard: ASRock H570 Steel Legend
CPU: 11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-11500 @ 2.70GHz 2.71 GHz
RAM: set of 2x ADATA 16GB DDR4 Spectrix D60G 3200Mhz
GPU: GTX 1080
SSD: Samsung 870 QVO, 1 TB SSD
PSU: Seasonic Focus GX-650W
