Author: amsp
Subject: 24818
Posted: 10 Aug 2022 at 5:38am

I have a new build. It won't post and has the Dram and CPU lights constantly on. CPU fan (CoolMaster) does spin. Multiple of the chassis fan plugs seem to NOT operate as expected. They start for a split second then stall.

I have tried 2x to submit the support form and gotten no automated response.

I have reseated the memory a number of times, even tried running with one stick in slot 2a. Memory is in the supported list. Corsair vengeance 3200 2x16.

I cleared the CMOS. Changed the CMOS battery.

I took off the SSD just so I knew it wasn't interfering.

I went as far as taking off the CPU fan and chip (i5 12600k) to check for any problems there. Nothing looked amiss.

I have tried to boot from both inside the case and then out to see if I was getting a short to my case. I have tried 2 different power supplies (first a 450w then a 400w). These are not the PSU I plan on using long term, just enough to get me up and running before a steal a 1000w from the machine I am replacing.

At this point I am assuming I have a dead board unless anyone has any bright ideas for me to try.
