Answer = YES, new bios with boot with your 2600,

any bios with the word COMBO will boot from Ryzen 1000 to Ryzen 5000

I have an AMD Ryzen 5 2600 CPU and an ASRock B450M Pro4 motherboard.

I've upgrade the BIOS as far as I can with this CPU (v. 3.50).

Quote *ASRock do NOT recommend updating this BIOS if you are going to use Pinnacle, Raven or Summit Ridge CPU on your system.


I am thinking of upgrading to a Ryzen 7 5700(G or X) so I think I need to upgrade the BIOS.

My question is will the computer boot to the BIOS settings screen with the old CPU?

1. *I* want to upgrade the BIOS with the old CPU.
