Compatibility Support module enables legacy hardware support, when CSM is disabled, and You Install an OS, it will be installed in UEFI Mode (GPT for Windows)
But CSM disabled can only work, when the ghraphics card support the Graphics Output Protocol (GOP), if there is something wrong with the graphics card firmware, the system will just boot into BIOS.
With AMD GOP is supported from RX560 Onwards, with Nvidia from the 10xx onward.
It can also be your M.2 card is not reliable, for that, You should go into BIOS, and check if it's detected.
Electronic storage has one big issue and that is, that SMART is supported, but it doesn't work, it doesn't give warnings, when the drive goed bad, it simply stops working.

Hello, I was running Windows 10 on a m.2 drive and it used to run only when I disabled CSM mode, its been working fine for a year. but today after a restart the system will not boot into OS and restart instead and then automatically enables CSM, after which I get the message that there is no boot drive (that used to happen any time CSM was enabled). I have another Sata ssd with windows 7, and I can boot the system in windows 7 with CSM enabled (I can also access my m.2 drive and see all files).
Any idea why it is happening? could it be that my windows 10 installation got corrupted?
