Reset BIOS to default, save and reboot
2. Installed the (then latest) BIOS 4.90. I found that I could boot this BIOS with my 2700X
3. Swapped the 2700X out and installed the 5800X3D
4. Did another BIOS reset to default for good measure

So you'd want to upgrade the BIOS before upgrading the CPU.

Re. intermediate steps, upgrading the BIOS to P2.00 before upgrading to 5.10 is worth considering, given that so many older BIOS versions only allow an upgrade from P2.00. Version 5.10 doesn't specify that, but that might be an oversight. You could email Asrock to find out (or just upgrade to P2.00).

Since an upgrade from 2.00 to 4.90 worked for me, I don't expect any problems with a direct upgrade from 2.00 to 5.10, but once again you could ask Asrock (particularly, if you're already emailing them about whether to use 2.00 as an intermediate step.)

Hope that helps a bit.

I don't see any bridge BIOS versions listed for your board so in theory you should be able to just update directly to 5.10. If in doubt, contact
ASRock Tech Support:
https://event.asrock.com/tsd.asp

Ask them what you need to do to update from 2.00 to 5.10. You will need to use
the 2700x for the update, that much I am certain of.

Good luck
