3 Pin fans have the following layout
1. Ground
2. variable voltage up to 12 Volt
3. RPM sensor

4 pins fans have a different layout
1. Ground
2. Fixed 12Volt
3. RPM sensor
4. PWMJ steering, so the pulse frequency sets the fan speed.

Hi everyone,
I have some questions about the Chassis Fan connectors on my motherboard. If I connect a 3 pin fan to one of these connectors, will I be able to control its speed in the bios? Or maybe fan must be 4 pin?
