Author: Bohde81
Subject: 25255
Posted: 28 Dec 2022 at 12:00pm

Trying to build a new PC/Server using the Z590 Steel Legend mobo. When I installed a PCIe x1 3.0 SATA expansion card for additional SATA ports (have 9 total with all my HDDs and BluRay/DVD drives...) but when I have the PCIe SATA card installed, the Mobo won't boot past the initial BIOS screen and gets stuck there (right after it switches over the screen to the PCIe SATA for a few seconds to initialize that card's controller, then switches back over to the ASRock BIOS screen)

When I remove the card, everything boots fine.

I've tried to play with the BIOS settings to see if there's something in the chipset that needs to be changed, but got tired of removing the PCIe X1 card, changing a few settings, putting it back in, still not working, removing it again, etc...

Anyone know of something other than compatibility (specific BIOS setting maybe?) that could be causing this and resolve this issue?
