Instead of translating the German article, I have an alternative one written in English (it's an international forum, so everybody should be able to contribute to this important topic): https://www.phoronix.com/news/AMD-openSIL-Open-Source

The Chromebooks (with Intel chipset) already have coreboot implemented and when you take a look on YouTube videos about coreboot than you realize that the boot time is also much faster compared to stock UEFI. On the other hand, coreboot is a really thin UEFI, so it's very likely that coreboot isn't offering the same amount of functions (so in the end it's up to the user which concept he/she prefers).

If I got this article right, this library could help developers for alternative UEFI/BIOS options like coreboot or libreboot. Is ASRock planning to publish coreboot versions for the above motherboard?

Coreboot is an open source and very thin UEFI alternative which is much faster compared to a stock UEFI solution (for customers who want more transparency and safety but also faster boot times an interesting alternative).
