Hope this helps someone with a similar issue.

System layout:
BIOS 3.00 and xFire 7950s
m.2s in RAID0, SSD drive with windows backup image and windows repair disc in DVD on remaining Intel ports.

Symptom:
Unable to load IRST floppy driver from usb stick to continue windows image restore. from the add drivers button selection.

Fix:
Move SSD and DVD to ASMedia ports,...floppy driver loads (confirmed twice that it works), windows image restored :)
