I ended up getting a M.2 NVME to PCIe 3x4 adapter and it works!

There is M2_2 and M2_1.

Maybe support has some ideas.

Do not have any other M2 slots..
I disconnected all the other drives and tried that... no success

Next I'm trying a PCI slot adapter for NVME.. if that doesn't work I'll contact ASrock support

Try the other m.2 slots?
Do you have any hard drives connected?
Try different SATA ports for them.

It could be a defective motherboard, I don't know if an M.2 port failure is common.

I just got a Samsung 980 and installed it...

but it will not post...

Are there settings in BIOS that I need to change?

What CPU and BIOS?

I've used both a HP SSD EX900 and a Samsung 980.
With a AMD Ryzen 5 5600 (BIOS 5.70) and a Ryzen 2 (BIOS 3.50).

Having trouble finding an SSD for the M2 Ultra slot on this board. I looked at the support list and they list the WD 750, but when I google I never found anyone that got this to work...
