I tried this kit since microcenter nearby had it and corsair listed it as compatible for the Taichi z690 even though ASROCK doesn't.

https://www.microcenter.com/product/647391/corsair-dominator-platinum-rgb-64gb-(2-x-32gb)-ddr5-5200-pc5-41600-cl40-dual-channel-desktop-memory-kit-cmt64gx5m2b5200-black

And it worked in slots 2&4, passed memtest and no crashes in games or apps.

My only guess is the ram was running in some weird single channel mode in 1&3?
It's really weird that it passed test in only those slots.

Would be nice to get some feedback from ASROCK about this.

If you have any other RAM to verify
with (in slots 2 and 4) it would help rule out a compatibility issue. I don't see
how it could be incompatible RAM though if it's working as it should in slots 1 and 3.

It may be worth trying a BIOS update if one is available that is newer than your
current version. Failing that, I would RMA that CPU just to be on the safe side
and rule out a marginal/bad IMC on the CPU.

In 2&4 it will boot but will not train and instantly crashes anything that tries to use the RAM. I verified this all with MEMTEST as well, it only passes with this kit in slots 1&3, not 2&4. This is confusing because the manual states that slots 2&4 are preferred for dual-channel configurations.

Any one have any idea why?
