Author: ILLRobinson
Subject: 26480
Posted: 05 Sep 2023 at 2:00am

Hi-

I'm building a system using the x570 Phantom Gaming X. I decided to breadboard the system before I do a full install into my case.

Specs for my build:
- X570 Phantom Gaming X
- Ryzen 7 5800X
- XFX Merc 319 RX 6800XT
- 4x G.Skill RIPJAWS 16GB DDR4
- Corsair AX1000

While just getting the core components in place (CPU, one stick of DDR mem, and the PSU), I fired it and its doesn't even light up. The only thing I see happening is a pulsing of the onboard LEDs (pulse every 10-15 secs?).

I tried shorting the pins for the power (with a screwdriver), as well as even hooking up the front panel connectors for my case, but still nothing.

I thought it might be the PSU, so I swapped it for another one, but the same thing happens.

Has anyone seen this behavior with an Asrock motherboard before? Not sure if I'm experiencing PSU issues or something further in (motherboard, CPU, etc.).

Thanks in advance for any thoughts!
