If there was truly an issue, it probably wouldn't be listed as supported, much less BIOS verified. I mostly imagined there might have been something beyond normal use, such as overclocking (which I never do) or some other hardware punishing practice it might not be up do. But I thought it prudent to verify anyway.
Thanx

They're all 2000, 3000, 4000, and 5000 series.

I did notice custom Pstates didn't work with latest BIOS using 2700X. Trying to set it will prevent it from booting, and required CMOS clear. After a while of messing with it, I just gave up on it, as it's not that important to me. Custom Pstates worked fine with older BIOS on the same board.
Author: riff
Subject: 26932
Posted: 28 Oct 2023 at 4:32am

I recently bought a Fatal1ty B450 Gaming-ITX/ac as a replacement for a MSI board with similar specs. I then noticed in the BIOS version list, after a certain point, all versions carried the statement, "ASRock do NOT recommend updating this BIOS if you are going to use Pinnacle, Raven or Summit Ridge CPU on your system."

I reused all my components from my previous board, including a Ryzen 5 2600 CPU, which is also a Pinnacle Ridge type. Since the compatibility list on the ASRock website shows my exact CPU is supported and states that is was validated with all versions of BIOS, I am confused about the declaration mentioned in the BIOS version list.

First off, I'll say that, so far, I have not had any issues with my system using this CPU on the ASRock MB, which, btw, came with a version 5.20 BIOS. So my question is one of potential concern.

Can anyone tell me what is meant by "not recommended" and what, if any issues I should be aware of?
