Author: parsec
Subject: 2718
Posted: 24 May 2016 at 1:02pm

You normally cannot update the UEFI/BIOS without a compatible processor. The board will not function without a CPU.

There are a very few rare exceptions to this where a processor will work in the board but cannot be over clocked without a certain UEFI version, but not in the case of this board and processor.

But given the date of the 1.30 UEFI, 1/20/2016, and that there are no other earlier versions listed, you could get a board that has the 1.30 version UEFI in it from the factory.

The UEFI version number that is in the board from the factory will be on a sticker on the UEFI chip. If you can inspect the board when you buy it, you can check that.

I'm a bit surprised your CPU even needs a new UEFI version. It is not that much different than the other A10 processors.
