Author: fleggett
Subject: 27203
Posted: 29 Dec 2023 at 5:41am

I recently upgraded the bios to the above mb to 2.02 and I have never seen so many options in my life, as I come from old(er), non-UEFI systems. There must literally be 300+ options in this bios, many of which are free-form entries where you can enter almost any value (and probably get yourself into a hellacious amount of trouble).

Now, I'm not looking to overclock. I just want to run things at stock, as I value stability over getting every last mhz out of a component. As such, are there any default settings or values that I should change? I looked at a few videos where people were GREATLY advocating that memory context restore and DDR power down be disabled, which I've done. I've also turned off ECC since I'm not using ECC memory, which was set to auto/enabled for some reason. Things like that. Is there anything else I should alter which would enhance stability, or at least give a speed boost without sacrificing such?

It's great that manufacturers are letting users get into the s like this, but it feels like going from servicing the motor on a go-kart to the most bleeding-edge Nascar racer.

Thanks in advance.
