Author: Niko
Subject: 2869
Posted: 02 Apr 2017 at 1:01am

Yes there is no Speed Shift or AVX options in z170 Extreme 4 too. I use it with Kaby Lake 7600k and there is no overclock presets too. On some options there are no voltage or current indications too so i dont know what is the state of the option im tweaking. Many options are on AUTO but most of them are just DEFAULT (set on specific value) which is very different from AUTO (adjusting according other options). I know there are Intel 200 and Ryzen 300 series but PLEASE we need more support for z170 & KABY LAKE.
Im was on v.7.30 but recently i flashed to 7.20 which is the most recent bios version but there is very little change. For options its identical to previous version but I now can start Windows10 on 5.3ghz but unstable and RAM overclock on is worse. BCLK overclock is not good too.

When enabled, it causes the change from a low processor speed when Speed Step is enabled (800MHz), and from a higher C State power saving level (C6 or C7 for example) to a higher processor speed, and the full on, C0 state.

Intel did not publicize Speed Shift very much when Skylake processors were released, and its full implementation will not be realized until Kaby Lake processors are released. Intel does not include Speed Shift in the list of processor features (Advanced Technologies) for Skylake processors, or currently for the few Kaby Lake mobile processors that are available only from OEM manufactures in laptop PCs.

What UEFI/BIOS version are you using now? I suggest updating to one of the versions that supports Kaby Lake, 7.00 in the main BIOS download page, or 7.10 in the Beta Zone. Speed Shift should be in the OC Tweaker, CPU Configuration screen, added in one of those versions.
