I have this mobo: http://www.asrock.com/mb/intel/fatal1ty%20z97%20killer/, and noticed that my computer does not recognize my old smartphone (Samsung Glaxy Young Duos GT- S6102B ), but my new galaxy J2 is being recognized. I thought it was the OS I use (Win 8.1 64bit ), but on another computer that I have with the same OS , the old smartphone is being detected. Recently bought a mini - PCIEx to PCIEx adapter, connected my wireless network card intel 5100 , but it is not recognized when access to the bios slot remains empty . In my other computer wireless card into the adapter is working properly. I conclude that there may be a lack of any driver or there is an incompatibility with older electronics. The bios are update. Sorry for my english, im brazilian.

I could not get an old Samsung cell phone to be recognized in three different PCs. I tried to download a driver from Samsung, but it did not work.

Your PC with Windows 8.1 that works with the 5100 network card may have a driver that the new PC does not have. Many wireless network cards need to have its driver installed before the card is connected to the PC.

Here is a list of drivers and software for the 5100 wireless network card. It looks like support for the 5100 card ended in 2013:

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/product/70970/Intel-WiFi-Link-5100
