You will either have to find a supported CPU on the BIOS version you have and update the BIOS or, if that is impossible you can purchase a new BIOS chip from ASRock preflashed with the latest BIOS.

    Author: ducatiflyer62
Subject: 3229
Posted: 11 Aug 2016 at 7:55am

I installed the P67 Pro 3 SE motherboard on a new build for a friend. He wants to keep costs down so this seems to be a good choice. I purchased a Pentium G2140 Ivy Bridge dual core processor to use with it. The computer will not power up. The Newegg site advertises this MB as compatible with i3 i5 i7 and Celeron/Pentium processors. Under the specs however it only lists the i3 i5 i7 processors. So the big question is am I having MB/CPU compatibility issues?? Newegg can't help me and ASRock is telling me to ask Newegg lol. WTF!!! Any help on the subject would be greatly appreciated. This is my first budget build and I'm not used to having any issues.
