Get rid of the LED's and buy a fan controller much more beneficial.

I also have to agree price/performance for asrock and I'll also give my 2 cents. I used to be Asus only boards, then asrock came along and gave me a fantastic bios much like Asus with a slightly cheaper put together board. I've had 2-3 now and never had a DOA unlike my first gigabyte board which I might add never went back. These boards although construction cost is a bit cheaper they still perform just as good if not better on the price/performance graph

I would also go into this more but your clearly going Intel so good luck to you when the next gen Intel comes out and yours drops by 2\3rds of its original price. My last amd actually went up in price from the next gen lol

Edited by mgrandy@hotmail.co.u - 19 Mar 2017 at 5:12am

You won't find the same kind of "bling" as you might on other manufacturer boards but what you will find is stability, solid performance and quality components. The major advantage of ASRock Rack products is value for money. If you compare the board you originally chose with the ASRock board I mentioned you will see the specs are near enough identical yet look at the difference in price.

The only potential issue I see there is the 1000w PSU, for a system with those specs I would go for a 1200w to give you a little headroom as well as ensure the PSU runs in it's most efficient load band. That thing will be a beast of a system both in performance and power draw. As for case fans that case should provide plenty of airflow, especially with the 2 additional fans you have listed (it should be fine even without them as that case has a good number of fans out the box). I wouldn't bother with water cooling on a Xeon system, you should be fine with decent air coolers, that and it will add more difficulty to the build itself. You won't see your money's worth between a decent air cooler and those AIO water coolers anyway, those CPUs can't be overclocked so it really would just be overkill.

Lastly, I don't see a single ASRock product listed in your specs, this is the ASRock forums not ASUS

A comparable ASRock board would be the EP2C612 WS which has much the same features.

Edited by Xaltar - 15 Oct 2016 at 1:37pm
