The CPU heatsink fins make a 1 mm clearance from the VRM heatsink. They fit well with no contact.</div><div><br></div><div>For more airflow, users of the L9i may consider upgrading from the 14 mm thick fan to the 25 mm thick fan. The combined heatsink and fan height would be 48 mm. Just making it into the case.</div>]]>

We can see the heatsink of the VRM module just above the CPU socket.<br><br>I have a DeskMini 110W, and while the VRM module is well made, it is rather small due to the STX form factor of this board. My concern is the long term stress on the VRM module caused by the higher power usage of these CPUs. Hopefully your Noctua CPU cooler is moving air across the VRM heatsink.<br><br>Apparently, ASRock is confident the VRM module is capable of supplying the required power, but I would still be careful to keep the VRM module cool.<br>]]>
