    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="https://forum.asrock.com/member_profile.asp?PF=4261">Gambleh</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 3806<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 15 Nov 2016 at 11:09am<br /><br />Hey, thanks for the response.<div><br></div><div>I have a power meter and 4 running at full speed hashing takes about 1000 watts/hr. &nbsp;Pretty sure it's not a power issue. &nbsp;And yea, I know 5d relates to memory, but I can't see that being an issue since everything works fine with 4 cards. &nbsp;System usage seems fine. &nbsp;I set the swap file to 16GB minimum. &nbsp;CPU and Mem usage both avg about 10%. &nbsp;In Bios literally everything is disabled that I can find. &nbsp;Everything works great until I stick that 5th card in a slot (you can see the riser sitting idle off the the side in the pic).</div><div><br></div><div>The fact that it wont post says to me its a mainboard issue. &nbsp;If I had problems on boot, or once in windows it'd be a different story. &nbsp;So, still hoping someone has a hail mary solution cuz this is my first asrock MB and at this rate with all the wasted hours - its going to be my last.</div><div><br></div><div>And yea, that's my build on the "rack". &nbsp;Pretty easy/cheap to throw it together if you have the tools.</div>]]>

Check Device Manager that you aren't running out of physical resources. And disable in the BIOS any and ALL unnecessary devices if in fact it&nbsp; is running out of resources to allocate. The look in Dev Mgr again ........<br><br>Too, look in Resource Monitor at you memory usage. Free, Allocated, and Used.<br><br><br>Nice "rack". Is that your handiwork??<br><br><br>]]>

    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="https://forum.asrock.com/member_profile.asp?PF=4261">Gambleh</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 3806<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 15 Nov 2016 at 8:59am<br /><br /><a href="" target="_blank" rel="nofollow"></a>I have built a GPU miner (cryptocurrency) and am encountering issues running 5 GPUs.<div><br></div><div>ASRock Extreme 7+</div><div>1600 watt PSU</div><div>16 GB RAM</div><div>Core i5 processor</div><div>Kingston SSD</div><div>5 Gigabyte Radeon 390/8GB RAM cards on pcie 16x to 1x risers</div><div><br></div><div>The system runs great with 4 cards. &nbsp;No issues whatsoever, but it will not post when I add the 5th. &nbsp;When I add the 5th card I get a 5d error and then even if I unplug all the cards it will not post until I reset the CMOS. &nbsp;Once the CMOS is reset, it will post and boot fine with 4 cards again.</div><div><br></div><div>I believe the problem is related to the pcie bus and have installed the most recent bios updates. &nbsp;I have tried setting each pcie slot to 1st gen and disabled everything else as a part of the chipset menu in the bios, but every time I go to add that 5th card, the 5d happens.</div><div><br></div><div>I have tried a mixture of cards, a mixture of slots, and a mixture of risers and verified everything to be functioning correctly. &nbsp;The problem simply must be with the motherboard. &nbsp;Does anyone have any advice? &nbsp;Pic at the links below.&nbsp;</div><div><br></div><div>http://imgur.com/u3SlscY</div><div><br></div>]]>
