Excuse me for bumping this rather old thread. I just purchased a brand new 990FX Extreme6 motherboard that was locked up in a warehouse all these years. It's brand new. I was very pleased to find out it has an m.2 SSD card slot. However, from what I can understand here, an m.2 SSD NVMe card (EVO 970) will work faster on this motherboard using a PCIe x16 adapter to plug it into a PCIe x16 slot - than it will if it is actually connected to it's m.2 slot on the board.Do I understand you correctly?]]>
