It was painful to get it to work correctly.

Last build I did for a home/game PC, I went Gigabyte instead, and am very happy with that. However, for replacing my aging 1st gen i7 server, I've been looking at the J3455/J4205 boards. Its hard to beat the low power consumption, and I've noticed that the newer Celerons walk circles around the older ones. A lot of people think I'm crazy for replacing a 1st gen i7-950 with a J3455 or the Pentium J4205, but its used solely as a server for a couple of virtual machines that do not perform CPU intensive tasks, and I'm quite fond of the design of the ASRock board and the fanless CPU, along with the low power consumption of the Intel SoCs.

Intel's ARK shows the Celeron J3455 as supporting 8 gigs of ram. All of manufacturers using this processor on their boards say the board supports 16 gigs of ram. ASUS couldn't explain why, ASRock simply replied saying, "It supports 16 gigs, see screenshot". I'm not doubting it works, but how, if the processor only supports 8, how can the system use 16? I figure I have to be missing some part of the puzzle here..
