I would use the newest bios.

you might diagnose whether it is os/driver problem or hardware, by.. reinstalling windows or better migrate your windows instalation to the vm and use it to see if the problem remains.

https://search.brave.com/search?q=how+to+create+vm+compatible+qemu+image+from+existing+windows+11+installed+on+hard+drive&source=web

Author: vive_ecrire
Subject: 39574
Posted: 21 May 2024 at 2:15am

Hi All --

I built this PC about a month ago. Every few days I've been having an issue where the USB devices (sometimes all of them, usually just most of them) suddenly stop working. Windows 11 reports "the USB device has malfunctioned and stopped working". However, the problem persists if I reboot and try to enter the BIOS (I'm not able to, generally, unless the keyboard is unaffected). Typically I have to shut down the machine, unplug everything, then turn it back on without anything plugged in, then plug things in once the machine is running (further, sometimes I have to uninstall the devices in Windows as it is ignoring them).

My BIOS version is 2.10. I see in the changelog there was a note for "Optimize USB port compatibility. " for 2.02. Should I try to downgrade, or is this a RMA situation?
