Even if the CPU or board are dead the CPU should get warm (hot) if the power is connected correctly and the system powers up (fans spinning). If the cables are connected correctly then try another PSU.

    Author: komixboy
Subject: 3987
Posted: 10 Dec 2016 at 9:10pm

Hi. I just received my new X99 Professional Gaming i7 mobo and it appears to be DEAD. I plugged everything and the motherboard is unfortunately dead.
I used just the basics:
CPU Intel i7 6850K
RAM Corsair 4GB 2133 CL15
VGA Randeon HD5770
I didn't connect anything else.....

Although it seams to be getting power, the mobo doesn't make any noise, the Q-Code doesn't display anything, and the CPU doesn't get warm at all.

I tried everything, like changing slots for the RAM and the VGA, repositioning the CPU but nothing happens....just the fans of the cpu cooler work.
Another interesting thing is the keyboard that is connected to the usb 2.0 port, doesn't light up. Neither the Num Lock, nor the Caps Lock....like no power is coming out of the port at any time.
I also tried BIOS No.2, CMOS clear, removing the battery....

I don't know what else to do or try....

Please HELPppp
Thanks
