But look closely for BIOS support before choosing a motherboard for the 845. It's that new.

The 845's FM2+ Socket is still supported. While the 640's AM2+ / AM3 is largely ignored now, if outright dead-ended.

Lower power consumption @65w. PCIe 3.0, albeit only offering 8 lanes.
