The lever is only there to make sure the memory module does not fall out of the slot. <br><br>If you put the memory module into the slot, and push it into the slot correctly, the lever(s) will close/lock into place automatically.<br><br>The memory module has a notch on both ends, that fits into a tab on the end of the slot, or into a tab on the lever.<br><br>Put the memory module into the slot so the notch on the module fits into the tab on the end that does not have a lever. Most the the memory module should be in the slot after you do that, but you then use both of your thumbs to push the module into the slot. The board should be on a table when you do this, or if it is in the PC case already, put the PC case on the floor (on a rug or towel to protect the case) and push the module into the slot with your fingers or thumbs.<br><br><br>]]>

You should hear two faint clicks as the module seats itself.<br><br>If it goes up you are not evenly pressing on the module.<br><br>That is a "new' slot design that allows for graphic cards to come right up to the memory w/o the need to unlatch that side.<br>]]>
