First, seeings BIOS 1.70 contains an Intel ME BIOS Firmware update, after flashing you should download and install for your OS the latest Intel ME and Intel INF's from your MB's download page:

After updating the two above, please reboot twice before continuing.




Doing this via Instant Flash, download the H170M-ITXac(7.00)ROM.zip file and extract from within it the actual flash file named H17MXAC7.00 . Move this .00 file to the root of a FAT32 formatted thumb drive.

Place the thumb drive into one of the USB 2.0 ports above the multi-use PS/2 port at the MBs rear I/O panel.

Reboot and enter the BIOS to the Tools tab. There you'll find the Instant Flash utility. Click on it and a  popup will(should) appear with the H17MXAC7.00 file highlighted. In the popup click Start and it will take of and begin flashing the BIOS. When finished it may prompt for a reboot so allow it.



Post back with any further issues.

Tried to follow Xaltar's advise and flashing by motherboard (v1.5->7)
Internetflash doesn't work because it can't write to my harddisk.

For an HTPC the G4400 should serve(pun intended) you well.

A good NIC/PHY and a decent disk subsystem, you're off to the races.

Thinking a Pentium had hyperthreading used to be a silly notion, now with Kaby Lake however it is quite true:

The 4400 however is Skylake and thus does not support it Wink

If you just purchased the 4400 I would flash your BIOS to the latest version, see if you can return it and pick up a hyperthreaded Kaby Lake Pentium as it is supported by your board.

Elsewhere I found wrong info stating it has hyperthreading.
It's no big deal. It's just a low power HTPC and handles everything quite well.

So I feel no pain at all.
But I do feel kinda stupid because I'm a frequent ark.intel visitor. (I don't like their new layout)

I'll say this with a sense of humor in mind yet you should really begin with a processor that has hyper-threading Wink

If and then, Hyper-Threading would appear as an option in the BIOS to Enable or Disable.
