tech support with asrock is an absolute nightmare, questions go to someone in the usa which they say then needs to go to hq and then back to the usa and then to me which one question takes about a month to go round trip. Not only does it go around in circles but they don't seem to recall the ongoing status of issues..after months of work trying to figure out my thunderbolt issue their "answer" is the same thing we did the first time. I'm still going around in circles with support. I've been told by other TB3 manufacturers that the firmware is ancient. They've had me try updating the hdmi certificate and reinstalling every other drivers. No luck.... I'm super frustrated as I bought this EXACTLY for the TB3 and I can't use it.. Ok, but the first bios for default has Thunderbolt disabled.... I f you have installed the OS befor upgrading to the new bios may be the drivers aren't correctly installed. if you try to reinstall the thunderbolt drivers now what happend???

I have the same motherboard but I haven't any Thunderbolt device for to try... I'm using Win 7 - 64 on a SM961... Are you using 7 or win 10?
