Did you happen to change the Chipset Configuration, Deep Sleep option in the UEFI from its default value?

Did you change the Windows 8 Rapid Startup option setting?

Hi, everyone. My Z97 Extreme4 motherboard has an unusual quirk. When i click on Shutdown (Windows 8.1 Pro 64-bit) the PC restarts instead of shutting down. On the second attempt the Shutdown command works OK. This is NOT caused by Windows Update. Even with Windows Update totally disabled the same behavior occurs.

It's not Mouse sensitivity because that would have the same effect on the second Shutdown attempt.

Would greatly appreciate your insight into identifying and fixing this problem! Thanks
