But it'll be hard to get it stable, and quite possibly it'll be slower than a good 2933 setting at this point.
As others said, the platform will have to mature and the hopes are on AMDs next AGESA update.

At this point, that is in the hands of AMD and the code updates they provide to mother board manufactures for use in the UEFI/BIOS.

The specs may simply be a case of the X370 GK4 being at the low end of the X370 model boards. But the main reason may be the specs just haven't been updated.

Given the state of Ryzen memory support from the memory manufactures, and the results I have had with memory supposedly designed for Ryzen (3200 memory that won't work above 2933), the memory speed specs are not guaranteed limits or even guaranteed to be reached.

Memory support and compatibility is the biggest issue we have with Ryzen at this time, for any mother board manufacture. Memory that uses Samsung B-die memory chips has the best chance of working at 3200, but the memory model better be rated for at least that speed.

Ryzen is not a mature platform at this point. CPU microcode updates from AMD are still being provided to mother board manufactures, one is known to be coming some time in May.
