Things to check/consider:

1. Use Instant Flash From within the BIOS proper
2. Use the rear I/O's USB 2.0 ports
3. Be sure to test the downloaded archive and extract it only after testing ok
4. Try a different size USB stick. On occasion we've found this to be a lot of the issue you see
