I just hadnt noticed that the Ram speed was at 3200mhz. When I lowered it I was able to overclock without problems. I successfuly clocked to 3.8 but the temps were too high. On 3.7 the temps were lower but too high still. I have it on 3.6 on stock voltages with 2900+mhz ram and on aida 64 stress test temps stayed between 70-72. I still need to check stability on prime95.

    Author: Jag
Subject: 5139
Posted: 15 May 2017 at 12:14am

Hello there! I just built my very first PC. I have a x370 taichi motherboard updated to bios ver. 2.30, ryzen 7 1700cpu cooled by the led wraith stock cooler and 16gb ddr4 3600mhz corsair vengeance lpx ram. I'm a complete noob at overclocking so I decided to do a slight overclock especially since I am on the stock cooler. The thing is even though I go above 3.0ghz, on the "about" section on windows it still says that my cpu is running at 3.0. On Cinebench is the same thing and the benchmark results dont change even though I overclock it. On the BIOS it also says 3.0 but when I go to OC tweaker it still has the settings I changed... I dont know what Im doing wrong since O have seen many people overclock on the same mobo without any problems. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks!

Edited by Jag - 15 May 2017 at 12:16am
