Well, I've tried everything I have found on the internet and nothing seems to make the onboard sound card work. It seems ASRock are not answering the reports of this fault so, 2 choices, If you can, return the board and don't buy anything ASRock again. Or, if you just don't want to pull that motherboard out after a day of installing and cable managing and setting up your software. $3.18 on Temu, plug it in and you're away.

In the end, I returned the motherboard under warranty and bought a different model.
It?™s really disappointing how weak ASRock?™s support is.

Hello everyone, I am having the opposite issue in a z790 taichi lite where I cannot for the love of God and all the saints turn off or disable the subpar cheap realtek audio USB controller. I went ahead and installed a Creative SoundBlaster that does the job the way it is supposed to, so I believe there is an issue on Asrock UEFIs when it comes to the builtin sound card.
Also, why we need to work through the seller? I was foolish enough to update my BIOS a couple of days ago due to some hybernation issues. I ran into the same problem as everyone here. Tried to downgrade BIOS to all the versions available. No success. Finally installed the latest BIOS again. Sound devices are maybe gone forever. No information anywhere from ASRock. HI .
i have bought this mobo to.. and i am allready dissapointed that i have it.
so still no solution ?? oh man....that sucks bigtime.
i have still to buy ram and cooler for i can start building it up. that should be the beginning of next month.

at this moment my older pc DDR3 still running everything i need it to do but its getting old now and cpu starts spiking when using ableton live now so thats way needed to build a new pc.. I already use a USB soundcard ASUS CENTURION r eal 71 headset, it has a sepperate soundcard to hook up 7.1 speaker setup and runs very well.(although my headset is not wroking anymore because of very stiff cable connecte throuh HDMI connection on the unit,but still can use it as an usb audio. so if it is still not working.. ai have the workarround with this asus.
so hoop that bios update 12 is solving this.

I have also just updated my bios to 11.01 and now have no sound. I tried to reinstall the Realtek driver but I still can't get any sound from the motherboard. Sound was working until I updated to this bios. Just updated my bios to 11.01 and now have no sound, no audio devices, no realtek driver only shows nividia high def audio driver which I uninstall but it comes back on restart so I disabled it but downloading realtek driver and installing does not work it does not show up.
