Glad it worked out for you. I have that board and have been running Corsair's Hynix at 2933 since the day I got it to first post. I'm also trying to get 3200 stable. I can browse, listen to music, etc but gaming doesn't fair well at all.

This is the RGB cas 16-18-18-18-38 2x8gb memory kit.

it is sk hynix a-die.

i have been messing around with 2400 and 2666 for a week.

today, after 4 hours of straight gaming i was finally able to get the memory stable at 2933mhz with stock cas latencies.

Motherboard bios is P2.50 with agessa 1.0.0.6.

i was also able to boot it at XMP 3200mhz, but it was very unstable. gta v would not even start and overwatch randomly crashed within 10-15 minutes of gameplay.

So, what was the secret?

i read the MANUAL. it says in there: if using only 2 ram sticks, install in A2 and B2 slots.

instinctively, i've always been installing ram on the slots further to the left, that is A1 and B1 in this motherboard.

with both ram sticks in A1 and B1 my system was stable only @ 2400mhz.

So moral of the story fellas: READ THE MANUAL. LOL.

20 years building systems and i thought i knew it all.
Here's pics of the system + all bios settings i changed: http://imgur.com/a/fQWLj

it was believed so far that only samsung B-dies would get over 2666. and in fact they go to 3200 most of the time with almost all x370 motherboards.

This is a huge step forward, as i did not want to pay $50 extra for cas 14 (trident rgb 16gb cas 14 with samsung b-die = $194 on newegg, like WTF?)

Edited by nycalex - 27 Jun 2017 at 9:03am
