But the x2apic extension doesn't seem to be enabled. <br>I can only run virt with westmere arch because of this so I would appreciate if someone explains to me why the extension is off. <br>I have read there could possibly be a switch in the bios to toggle it but I couldn't find any, I am running the latest bios that can be downloaded from asrock website. <br>I also tried the kernel boot parameter <br><table width="99%"><tr><td class="BBquote"><img src="forum_images/quote_box.png" title="Quote" alt="Quote" style="vertical-align: text-bottom;" /> intremap=no_x2apic_optout</td></tr></table><br>which supposedly makes linux override the off switch from the bios but still no success. <br>Just to be clear x2apic is actually not present in the cpu flags <br><table width="99%"><tr><td class="BBquote"><img src="forum_images/quote_box.png" title="Quote" alt="Quote" style="vertical-align: text-bottom;" /> cat /proc/cpuinfo | grep x2apic</td></tr></table><br>returns nothing.<br>]]>
