Author: parsec
Subject: 577
Posted: 08 Aug 2015 at 3:31pm

Every BIOS version for this board will support a SSD as the primary boot drive, why not?

If you can set the SATA mode to AHCI in the BIOS, you can use a SSD on a SATA III port at its full performance. You can use a SSD in IDE mode if you had to, but would lose some performance.

I've used SSDs on boards with older chipsets than the H67 just fine. The X58 chipset that had the older Northbridge and Southbridge design with the ICH10R SATA chipset could run SSDs in RAID 0, but without TRIM support.

SSDs don't need much special care. Just at least Win 7 for TRIM support and AHCI or RAID mode for the best performance, that's all.
