Author: sebastianvalmont
Subject: 6084
Posted: 15 Sep 2017 at 3:37am

Hi everyone,
I just built a new game rig with X299 Taichi. Everything was fine with my new X299 Taichi Mobo, untill I set two antennas up and realized I have a problem with Intel 802.11ac wireless controller. My Windows 8 pro doesn't recognize the Intel wireless controller which I don't know the specific model. In the device manager, there are two unrecognized devices under "other devices" folder, and the names of these two devices are "net controller" and "unknown". I installed all the drivers provided with the mobo's driver CD and Windows 8 pro do recogize a BlueTooth device, and this BT device's driver is a general one from Microsoft not Intel. I tried to connect my iPhone with BT. Windows can see my iPhone but my iPhone can't see my computer. So BT connection failed. I uninstalled the two unrecognized devices, and do a re-scan, and they are still unrecognized. Next, I update my UEFI to the latest version 1.60, and they are still unrecognized. I almost run out of ideas what should I do to let Windows recognize the Intel wireless controller. Does anybody know the specific WiFi controller model used in this mobo or have any suggestions? Thanks a lot!

My build:

CPU: i7-7800X

MOBO: X299 Taichi

MEMORY: Corsair Vengeance LPX 4x8GB

GRAPHIC CARD: MSI 1080 Ti Duke

SDD: 2x Sumsung 960 EVO 500GB RAID 0
