UEFI will show which drives are where.&nbsp; If you have multiple drivers of the same brand and product code you'll have to use software in the OS to find that out.&nbsp; HWinfo for Windows is rather good at finding all the sensor info.&nbsp; It told me the serial number of each of the two 1TB Seagate HDDs I have, same model drive, two different serials.<div><br></div><div>Ya know that Windows is going to ignore the order you hook up the drives right?&nbsp; It'll put C: the drive which has Windows on at the top and shove other stuff wherever it likes.&nbsp; MS dont want to do anything about it.</div><div><br></div><div>Not suggesting for a second you are wrong to wish this to be clarified and rectified, but why are yo fussed about which one goes where?&nbsp; I mean it's not like they are on lane-splitting chips like the X370 has?&nbsp; I guess more might come form the CPU directly - haven't really looked into X399.</div>]]>

Disappointed, to say the least. This is my first Asrock motherboard, been using another brand for all previous builds.<div><br></div><div>I know in the scheme of things this is not hugely important but I would have liked to know correct port numbering before I button this puppy up.</div><div><br></div><div>Oh well, onward with the build, I'll find out port locations when I boot!!</div><div><br></div><div>Looking forward to my new TR machine&nbsp;<img src="https://forum.asrock.com/smileys/smiley1.gif" border="0" alt="Smile" title="Smile" />&nbsp;</div>]]>

    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="https://forum.asrock.com/member_profile.asp?PF=6802">VUMeter</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 6182<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 26 Sep 2017 at 1:17pm<br /><br />Yeah, well they are what they are.&nbsp; Most USB 3.0 ports are provided by them due to the fact that we've had hubs on boards.&nbsp; Windows device manger will say root hub or such.<div><br></div><div>They are used an awful lot for different tasks, some chips do their job better than others do, however.</div><div><br></div><div>Another reason I didn't want a Z170, a lot of boards were just littered with ASMedia chips, it was almost as if they were sprinkling them like fairy dust!</div>]]>
