Author: Drixiss
Subject: 6409
Posted: 24 Oct 2017 at 11:01pm

Hello,I recently bought and replaced my RAM, motherboard, processor and case. Here are my current specs:Motherboard: ASRock B250M Pro4 LGA 1151 Intel B250 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 Micro ATXProcessor: Intel i7-7700 8M Cache, 3.6GHz 7th GenRAM: G.SKILL F4-2400C15D-16GVR (2x8GB 2400 DDR4)Graphics Card: EVGA geforce 1060 6GB (single fan)Power Supply: 600W Silentpro CoolermasterHDD: none, just a SATA3 256GB Corsair SSD with Windows 7Case: DIYPC DIY-F2-P SPCC MicroATXNO peripherals (CD/DVD, disk, etc...)So everything except for the Graphics card, power supply and SSD are new. The problem I am currently seeing is a boot loop. When I turn it on, it stays on for about 3 seconds, powers off, stays off for about 5 seconds, then turns back on, and repeats forever until I hold down the power button or switch off the power supply. I originally had some corsair DDR4 RAM that turned out to be incompatible with the new motherboard, and Corsair told me that this can sometimes cause a boot loop. However, I returned that RAM and bought this G.Skill RAM that I can 100% confirm is compatible with my motherboard, and I am still seeing the exact same issue.I also tried running the system with no RAM, and it would actually not go into a boot loop. It did give me the 3 long beep POST (no RAM) and stay on for as long as I would leave it, which leads me to believe that it's likely not a power supply issue. All of the fans on the case/processor/graphics card turn on as well so everything seems to be getting power. The old parts also still work properly with my other old parts.I have tried running the system in "bare bones" with just power supply, processor and RAM, and it still does the exact same thing. I have also tried rearranging the RAM in every possible setup with no luck. I had read that the CMOS battery can cause this and to try removing it for a few minutes and popping it back in. I did that; no luck. I'm running out of things to try at this point. Does anyone have any other ideas? Could it just be a bad motherboard? bad processor...? Let me know what you all think.
