If your host OS is Linux and if you like to use PCI-passthrough, then KVM, Xen and VirtualBox do not work. There is an issue in the PCIe subsystem preventing proper powersave management of PCIe devices, ending in PCIe devices not waking up properly from D3 state. This issue affects all X399 mainboards out there.
