It has the 8700K processor and a 240G SSD on SATA as the boot drive. The PC came preinstalled with Windows 10 Home, but I want to upgrade to Win10 Professional via a copy I have that is new and unused.

According to what I've researched on the net, the Windows 10 Home registration key is somehow stored in the Bios on the Z370 Mobo's and that is how it verifies the Win10 registration key when you connect to the internet, without having to type it in. My particular PC does not have a Windows sticker anywhere on it.

IS storing the OS registration keys in the Bios something that is new, and is being done now, or just the way CyberPowerPC does their OEM installs? Will I have issues installing my copy of Win10 Professional with a new registration key, seeing as it will not be stored in the Bios?

Edited by Mank - 17 Dec 2017 at 6:39pm
