When I lit the fires and kicked the tires I have your same problem. ASRock Extreme 4 Z77, i7 2600k, H70 water cooler, 2 x 4gb corsair xmp. Never seen anything like it . PLL setting in bios is just gone as is my xmp option. I regularly ran a 48 multiplier. Even did a complete teardown and reseat but to no avail. Stayed up all night for 2 nights now and still no joy. Win 10 64 bit, P2.90 Bios rev. Most recent one. I know your pain bro. That 38 hurts.

Edited by b31525 - 26 Dec 2017 at 4:12am

So i have a asrock z77 pro3 mobo with an i7-2600k in it. But when ever i open up the bios i can't set the multiplier higher than 38. Fine even tho i set it to 38, in windows it says its running in 3,4ghz... Its kinda weird like its not saving the settings... so i got back to bios and it says its on a 38 multiplier. What could be wrong? Oh yes and i even dont have the XMP ram setting thing, like other people on youtube showing how to overclock CPU.
Sorry for my bad english, trying my best. I'm new to cpu overclocking! :)
