    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="https://forum.asrock.com/member_profile.asp?PF=8054">kennnels</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 7140<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 02 Jan 2018 at 6:57am<br /><br /><a href="" target="_blank" rel="nofollow"></a>What I have done, in this order:<div>Installed:</div><div>R5 1600 CPU &amp; heat sink</div><div>GTX 1080 Founders</div><div>G.SKILL Ripjaws V Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 3200</div><div>Plextor 1GB NVMe</div><div>DVD-RW</div><div>Plugged in my Logitech Unifying keyboard/mouse (already paired from prior machine)</div><div><br><div>I verified I had the latest BIOS</div><div><br></div><div>I tried to install Win10x64 from a thumb drive.&nbsp; Windows could not see my NVMe.&nbsp; I googled around looking for help.&nbsp; I checked the settings given and it all looked good.&nbsp; I tried it out for kicks, and there was the NVMe.</div><div><br></div><div>I then downloaded and installed latest MOBO drivers followed by updating Windows.&nbsp; Then I installed the latest nVidia drivers.&nbsp; I shut down and then plugged in my existing 2 disk RAID 1 array.&nbsp; That's where things got weird.&nbsp; After booting into BIOS (which took a few tries) the keyboard &amp; mouse was behaving oddly.&nbsp; Every key/mouse movement was delayed, some ignored.&nbsp; When I finally got into BIOS, my NVMe was no longer listed as a boot device.</div></div><div><br></div><div>So I unplugged the RAID HDDs and the keyboard/mouse issue was resolved.&nbsp; But the NVMe would not show up in the boot options, but it was listed in storage.&nbsp; After a few restarts it suddenly appeared in the list and I could boot into windows fine.</div><div><br></div><div>So, while this was working I went ahead and had the BIOS copy the RAID files to a USB drive.&nbsp; I then switched to RAID, and rebooted.&nbsp; I installed the drivers in Windows.&nbsp; After a reboot I could see my DVD drive.&nbsp; I shut down and plugged in the HDDs again...and yep, back to crazy kb/mouse behavior.</div><div><br></div><div>I scrounged up a USB keyboard and it works just fine, so it's not the USB port.&nbsp; I verified the kb/mouse work on a laptop....and the mouse from that laptop behaves oddly with the desktop.</div><div><br></div><div>What the heck is going on?</div>]]>
