Author: spLagger
Subject: 7165
Posted: 04 Jan 2018 at 1:23pm

I purchased a Samsung 960 Pro 512GB NVMe M.2 drive. I first tried it in my Z170 Pro4S with a PCIe card adapter because my M.2 slot has an OCZ RD400 already and I wanted to migrate the drive to the Samsung. It didn't show up in bios so I thought my card adapter was bad. So I removed my OCZ and installed the 960 Pro directly into the M.2 slot. Still no luck. I updated the bios to the latest that is available and still nothing. I tried the CSM settings that were recommended, but I still can't get it to show up in bios.

Since I planed on getting a Z270 Pro4 I decided check it out with that board. I get the board, plug in my two NVMe drives and still only the OCZ shows up and not the 960. I updated the bios to the latest and try again. Still can't find it.

Am I just SOL? Are the Z270 Pro4 boards not compatible with my 960? Or is my 960 defective?
