Fun thing is that the patch for AMD's only vulnerability shouldn't be taxing AT ALL, while practice says otherwise.

I'm currently investigating and I'm planning a lawsuit as my performance tanked noticeably for patches that are not needed for my CPU.

On a side note, my brief experience with ASRock has been all but pleasant! I honestly don't expect any love for us, poor AMD users. Most likely Intel is poring tons of money to mobo vendors to prioritize work on their products first.
Meltdown, for example, hasn't yet been shown to affect AMD CPUs. As far as I know, AMD has not released any microcode updates yet for either of the Spectre variants, so it's impossible to say if and when such updates will be available through motherboard manufacturers.
Spectre and Meltdown take advantage of the normal ways that Intel, ARM, and AMD processors work. The exploits take advantage of a flaw in how the data is dumped that could allow them with the right malware installed to read data that should be secret.
