That I use now are my first Asrock. 970M pro3. the fm2a88x pro3+ is my 1st asrock motherboard.  what I like best about the asrock motherboards are the pci-e x 1 slots. lots of themStar

Yeah, my last ABIT board was AX78, and I love it all the way.
I loved the black ATA and FDD cables that always came with ABIT boards.

I don't know if it is true, but some tell that after ABIT went down,
many of their MBO designer went to PEGATRON, ASRock parent company.

Maybe, we can not tell, it's been a long time ago. Only Pegatron/ASRock people can tell about that.

Anyway, I would love to have the 990FX Extreme9, it's the only board that could replace the 990FX Pro.

If you are an AMD fan and have been for more than a decade then it only stands to reason that you would love ABIT, they were unrivaled when it came to overclocking your Athlon regardless of thoroughbred. Every ABIT board I ever owned overclocked my CPUs beyond any other brand I had tried them in. ASRock seems to be following the same trend, setting records with their overclocking series at every turn Thumbs Up

I have always loved that AMD is kind to the incremental upgrader allowing backward compatibility across several generations of their CPUs and sockets. I love that you can slap an old Phenom II in the same board you can slot a newer FX CPU in. Now we wait to see what Zen brings to the table, I am hoping we have a new Athlon 64 on the horizon that will shake things up in the CPU world again. AMD has a lot riding on Zen and somehow I have a feeling they are not going to disappoint.

My first was the K7NF2-RAID with Barton 2500+ @ Barton 3200+ OC.
This rig still works, but is retired for good.

The second was the A770CrossFire with the Athlon X2 6000+.

After that came the A780GXH128M with the Phenom II X2 550 @ B50 X4.

Not long after that came the 890GX Extreme3 with the Phenom II X2 555BE @ B55 OC at 4GHz with 1.20V.

I transferred the CPU to the actual Fatal1ty 990FX Professional,
and some time later got the Bulldozer FX 8120 as my daily CPU.

You see the pattern, I got only AMD stuff for last 10+ Years.

And this Year I got finally an Intel board for my Home Cinema PC,
the H81M-ITX and the Celeron G1840, that replaced my MSI E350IA-E45.
(sorry folks, but no ASRock E350 ITX based boards had 8 USB ports on the back,
and I needed them for 4 gamepads, as this was my "Nintendo Virtual Machine")

I can tell You, I played with every ASRock AMD board that came out in the last 8 years,
and with many Intel boards, except the LGA1366, LGA2011(-3), that was out of
my budget.

But yeah, I love them all, and I can tell that ASRock DOES the best AMD support
of all other motherboard manufacturers.

Except ASRock, my favorite brand was ABIT. After they closed the door,
ASRock is the only one for me...

Sure, miss ABIT a LOT. Always in my hart the ABIT Fatality series...

GPU: EVGA GTX 650, Intel iGPU HD 3000
SSD: Crucial M4 OS Drive (originally)
PSU: Corsair HX 850
OS: Windows 7 64bit (originally)
Monitor: LG E2350V 23"

This system is still working (why not?) and not old, from 2012. I have a second Z77 Extreme4 board that I bought new (on sale) since it's a great board for the price. That board is used with an i5-3570K.

This board started my loyalty with ASRock, and I now have six ASRock boards. All of them work fine, never had to RMA or return one to a retailer. Why I am so "lucky" with these boards, I don't know precisely. Perhaps I am just careful with my builds, and always take my time when playing around with my PCs, which I do constantly. Side note, I have never, ever, used a grounding strap when building or changing hardware. I don't own one. I guess my body is a poor conductor. Wink

The only thing I assume helps to keep my mother boards alive is the PSUs I use. I have only Seasonic Gold and Platinum models, with a few Corsair HX models that are the lowest-end types I use. Cool

Like the title, what was your first ASRock board and what were the system specs?

Mine was:

Motherboard: ASRock K7VM3
CPU: Duron 1200
RAM: 256mb x2 DDR266
GPU: Onboard
HDD: 40gb Seagate Barracuda (still have it, still working)
OS: Windows 2000
Monitor: 15" Prosonic CRT

Built around 2004/5, I only discovered it was ASRock looking through my PC pics gallery lol.
Interestingly, the next ASRock board I purchased is still with me and still working with its Athlon XP 2400M and 1gb of DDR400 RAM.
