Is dmidecode way the only way to check ECC support? @Asrock: what was your procedure to determine that this combination of memory and motherboard supports ECC?

on my other box which is AMD FX8320E, Sabertooth 990FX R2.0 and unbuffered ECC memory dmidecode reports 72 bits:
<div ="code">

$ sudo dmidecode -t memory | grep -i width | sort -u

Data Width: 64 bits

Total Width: 72 bits

it also notifies in dmesg that ECC is enabled:

$ dmesg | grep -i 'edac'

[    9.764412] EDAC MC: Ver: 3.0.0[    9.790402] AMD64 EDAC driver v3.4.0[    9.790426] EDAC amd64: DRAM ECC enabled.[...]

there is no similar line for combination C2550D4I and KVR1333D3E9S modules.

I also used memtest86 pro. it somehow reports ECC enabled but any test with ECC injection error doesn't show that such error was corrected. according to the authors of the memtest86 it can be due to the fact that ECC injection registers are disabled in BIOS. is this the fact for C2550C4I?

I would appreciate your help in determining if particular combination of ECC memory and this motherboard really works and errors are corrected. I can be guinea pig if you have some "unlocked" BIOS that allows ECC injection error test. how can it be "proven" that this motherboard really supports ECC memory and that it works?

thank you
geos
