    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="https://forum.asrock.com/member_profile.asp?PF=8061">jclausius</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 7425<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 24 Jan 2018 at 11:38pm<br /><br /><a href="" target="_blank" rel="nofollow"></a>I see where the UEFI/BIOS fix from intel for Spectre / Meltdown has been causing random reboots:<br /><br />- http://forum.asrock.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=7175&PID=43779&title=bios-update-for-spectre-and-meltdown-for-older-mbs#43779<br /><br />- http://www.tomshardware.com/news/intel-spectre-reboot-update-tested,36378.html<br /><br />I believe intel has recommended all mobo vendors pull their UEFI/BIOS fixes from respective websites, and that ASRock is no exception.  However, in my case I was able to grab and install the UEFI update for my x299e-itx/ac (v 1.40) on the day of its release a week or two ago. <br /><br />Now, I've patched the BIOS without issue and have not experienced any random reboots, in fact the system has been plain solid.  Again, the x299e-itx/ac is only capable of running Skylake-X CPUs.  My plan is to go forward using the version I have installed now, and not downgrade my UEFI.
