This would be the second board I've RMA'd for the same problem. So either I got the same board back or the second board with the same issue. Either way it puts me out of a computer for a month while the issue gets resolved. I'll have to consider that again. :-(
It works great and the performance is everything I want. The problem is the random crashes and reboots. I run several VMs on the system at all times, mostly for work. That's why I build this computer was specifically to use with multiple VMs and still be able to play the few games I play.
I've RMA'd this system board to ASROCK once, Swapped out the CPU with another one and tested all my memory modules in pairs of two making sure no errors would crop up. With two modules the system seems the most stable, but still randomly crashes. Anything beyond that on both processors is the same exact issue. Passes Memtest without any problems. Just random lockups in BIOS and random crashes with no obvious error in Event Viewer.

System Stats

Thread Ripper 1950x

Fatal1ty X399 Professional Gaming TR4 (Bios: 2.0)

G.Skil 3200 Ram (128GB total)

AMD Vega 64

Corsair HX850 Power Supply

Thoughts or suggestions are welcome. I'm open to old druid incantations at this point.

Edited by mike_schuler - 29 Jan 2018 at 9:50am
